1. LIVE YOUR BEST MERMAID LIFE at the Sea Life Aquarium, Melbourne.

Set sail on your Pirate adventure with a morning visit to the Sea Life Aquarium. Enjoy life under the sea with their oceanic exhibits, including the Shipwreck Explorer, Crocodile Lair, and Mermaid Garden. You can even scuba dive with the sharks if you're feeling dangerous.

2. CASTAWAY IN A CABANA at the Arbory Afloat.

After you’ve explored the ocean, it’s time to wash up on shore at the Arbory Afloat; a floating bar serving lunch and cocktails. The top deck features a swimming pool with surrounding aesthetics fit for a Pirate. Think palms, banana trees, pineapples, and plenty of bottles of rum.

3. CAPTAIN YOUR OWN SHIP onboard Go Boat Melbourne.

After lunch, you and your crew can float your own boat along the Yarra! Book a Go Boat rental boat to explore everything from the Docklands, right up to Herring Island and beyond. Go Boat's are BYO, can fit up to eight crew members on board, and don’t require your Captain to hold a boat licence. Aye aye, Captain!

4. HANG OUT WITH THE SEAGULLS along the South Wharf.

Take a maritime heritage walk through the South Wharf precinct. Hang out with the seagulls along the boardwalk. Many of the bars and restaurants throughout the area operate out of original boat sheds, some dating all the way back to the 1880s. Many of the sheds still have their original fittings inside, so be sure to step inside to take a look.

5. DROP ANCHOR at the Polly Woodside.

Built in Belfast in 1885, the Polly Woodside has sailed across the seven seas! The tall ship is now permanently docked in South Wharf opposite the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and is protected by the Australian Heritage Register and the National Trust of Victoria. It is also home to its very own Maritime Museum. Shiver me timbers... if this isn't the perfect Pirate photo opportunity, we don't know what is! For example, here's our matey @arntmae_ captured by @braydenfunfilms

6. ALL HANDS ON DECK at the Boatbuilders Yard.

Right next to the Polly Woodside, you can have a drink with your mateys on the deck of the famous Boatbuilders Yard. Sit around a barrel and overlook the water, or take your shoes off on the sand and kick back on the deck chairs.

Once you're ready to leave the Boatbuilders Yard, head over the Seafarers Bridge towards the Docklands and the Mission to Seafarers. But don't rush, me hearties! Be sure to take a moment to look back over the city, the water, and the docks.
